Haslet Fire Rescue

The Haslet Fire Rescue (HFR) provides fire suppression and medical first response for the City of Haslet and an immediately surrounding, defined 911 area in unincorporated north Tarrant County. The City describes the coverage area as approximately 19 square miles and says all operations are conducted from one centrally located station.^[1]

HFD uses a combination staffing model. The City’s proposed fiscal-year 2026–2027 budget references 12 shift FTE for coverage calculations and separately funds credentialed volunteer firefighters for day, night, safety-officer, and leave coverage.^[3] MedStar is also identified by the City as an emergency medical response provider within the service area.^[1]

Fire Chief Steven Harvey leads the department and also serves as the City’s Emergency Management Manager. Dennis Selzer is listed as Assistant Chief and Fire Marshal. The non-emergency department number is 817-439-1048; emergencies should always be reported through 911.^[2]

The City states that HFD provides mutual-aid support regionally, across multiple counties, and statewide.^[1] Haslet also appears in public records as a contracted service provider for Tarrant County Emergency Services District No. 1, whose 13-department network emphasizes coordinated mutual aid and efficient resource deployment. ^[9]

Tarrant County Fire Alarm coordinates Haslet incidents in the department’s county jurisdiction. Partner agencies and unit assignments vary by location, incident type, resource availability, and command decisions; a fixed public automatic-aid run card was not located. ^[8]
